FIELD: motors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: engine control unit is designed to control the spark ignition engine with direct injection of fuel into the cylinder. Engine is equipped with a fuel injection valve providing direct fuel injection into the cylinder and a spark plug for spark ignition of the gas mixture inside the cylinder. Catalytic converter warm-up operation for delaying the ignition timing is performed when it is necessary to heat the exhaust gas cleaning catalytic converter installed in the exhaust duct. Valve closing period increases according to the temperature of the piston head surface during the catalytic converter warm-up operation. Engine control method is described.
EFFECT: technical result is to prevent an increase in the amount of particulate matter in the exhaust gases of the engine.
