FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for hydroprocessing and an apparatus for its implementation. Process includes separating a vacuum gas oil stream into a light vacuum gas oil, a medium vacuum gas oil and a heavy vacuum gas oil in a vacuum distillation column; providing a hydroprocessing zone, comprising at least two catalyst beds; quenching downstream of the first catalyst bed of said at least two catalyst beds with the medium vacuum gas oil that is lighter than the heavy vacuum gas oil supplied to said first catalyst bed, and quenching downstream of the second catalyst bed of said at least two catalyst beds with a light vacuum gas oil, wherein the heavy vacuum gas oil has a higher sulphur and nitrogen content than the medium vacuum gas oil, which in turn has a higher sulphur and nitrogen content than the light vacuum gas oil.
EFFECT: invention simplifies the process of hydroprocessing and reduces power consumption.
