SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for conjugating polysialic acid (PSA) or modified PSA (mPSA) with the oxidized carbohydrate portion of a glycoprotein other than a blood coagulation protein, which contains a carbohydrate group, by means of contacting of the oxidized carbohydrate portion with PSA or mPSA under the conditions that provide conjugation, wherein the mentioned PSA or mPSA contain the hydrazide group, and between the oxidized carbohydrate portion on the glycoprotein and the hydrazide group on the PSA or mPSA the hydrazone bond is formed, wherein the modified PSA is the PSA, which contains the group that is formed from the terminal group of N-acetylneuraminic acid by means of oxidation or reduction.

EFFECT: method allows to obtain the high yield of the conjugate, the high retention of the activity of the conjugated glycoprotein as compared to the unconjugated protein, and the high conjugation efficiency.
