SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically means of supporting a user in a diagnosis process in staging prostate cancer. Support apparatus comprises an image providing unit for providing a three-dimensional image of the prostate gland as an anatomical object, a segmentation unit for determining three-dimensional segments of the object, wherein the segments comprise anatomical segment boundaries and non-anatomical segment boundaries, a visualisation generating unit for generating a visualisation of the segments in the image, a graphical user interface providing unit allowing the user to assign scores to the determined three-dimensional segments, and a display. Support method is carried out by means of the apparatus using a storage medium comprising a computer support program.

EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to automatically plot segments for which the user can assign scores to segments and perform diagnosis.
