FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an optical fiber and a ribbon fiber optic cable. Optical fiber comprises a glass fiber having a core and a cladding by which the core is coated. Glass fiber is coated with a coating polymer layer. Coating polymer layer has a colored layer with a thickness of 10 mcm or more. Yellowness index change rate of the coating polymer layer after aging under the influence of temperature and at humidity in a medium with a temperature of 85 °C and 85 % relative humidity (RH) for 30 days is 5 or less per day.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is providing an optical fiber and a ribbon fiber optic cable comprising a coating polymer layer, wherein the color change with time is avoided without the delamination of color marking of the colored layer.
