SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a resin composition, an optical fiber and a method for manufacturing an optical fiber. The resin composition includes a basic resin containing oligourethane (met)acrylate, monomer and initiator of photopolymerization; and surface-modified inorganic oxide particles having an alkyl group having 1 or more and 8 or fewer carbon atoms, or a phenyl group in which the content of surface-modified inorganic oxide particles is 1wt. % or more and 60 wt. % or less based on the total amount of the resin composition and the amount of surface modification relative to surface-modified inorganic oxide particles is 0.15 mg/m2 or more, while the amount of surface modification is 0.15 mg/m2 or more and 2.5 mg/m2 or less.
EFFECT: creation of a resin composition having a good application ability, making it possible to form a viscous resin layer, and an optical fiber containing a secondary resin layer formed from the resin composition.
