FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring techniques, in particular to radio wave methods for measuring the vehicle ground speed using the Doppler effect for electromagnetic waves. Electromagnetic waves radiate forward at an angle α in the direction of movement of the vehicle, take electromagnetic waves reflected from the road surface, then these waves are mixed in the first mixer with a part of the emitted waves and the first difference frequency signal is extracted, in addition to this the reflected waves are shifted in phase by π/4, mix them on the second mixer with a part of the radiated waves and extract the second difference frequency signal, calculate the cross-correlation function between these signals and the time shift corresponding to its maximum, determine the ground speed.
EFFECT: improvement of measurement accuracy.
