FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the measuring equipment, in particular to the vehicles speed measuring devices using the Doppler effect for electromagnetic waves. Doppler ground speed meter comprises in-series connected SHF generator and directional coupler, in-series connected antenna, circulator and first mixer, at that, the directional coupler main output is connected to the circulator input, and the auxiliary output is connected to the first mixer first input, and also comprises connected to the first mixer output computing unit, comprising the second mixer and the phase shifter for the angle of π/4, at that, the second mixer first input is connected to the directional coupler auxiliary output, the second input is connected to the circulator output through the phase shifter, and the output is connected to the computing unit, at that, at the first and second mixers outputs identical doppler signals are generated, shifted in phase between each other by π/4, delay time between them corresponds to the Doppler frequency quarter period and is determined by the cross-correlation coefficient maximum tmax, in the computing unit by the delay time tmax determining the proportional to the travel speed fD=1/4tmax Doppler frequency, then, taking into account the formula for the ground speed V=c/8cos(α)f0, where c is the speed of light, f0 is the radiated signal frequency, calculating the updated ground speed according to the formula V=c/8cos(α)f0tmax, providing associated with the Doppler frequency inaccurate determination error elimination.
