FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring techniques, in particular to radio wave methods for measuring the vehicle ground speed using the Doppler effect for electromagnetic waves. In the method of measuring ground speed, the fact that electromagnetic waves are radiated forward at an angle α in the direction of the vehicle, electromagnetic waves reflected from the road surface are received, then these waves are mixed in the first mixer with a part of the emitted waves and the first signal of the difference frequency is selected, in addition to this, the reflected waves are passed through a delay line a quarter of the wavelength of electromagnetic oscillation, they are mixed on the second mixer with a part of the emitted waves and the second signal of the difference frequency is selected, then both signals are compared in phase, while one of the signals of the difference frequency is previously passed through a controlled delay line, by changing the phase difference of these signals, the delay line is controlled until the phases of the two difference frequency signals coincide, on the resulting control signal to calculate the delay time, which determine the speed of the vehicle.
EFFECT: improving the accuracy of measuring the ground speed of the vehicle.
