FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the synthesis of 2-vinyl norbornane, which can be used in various branches of the national economy, in particular as a monomer for the preparation of copolymers for various purposes, as well as fuels, in particular rocket and long-range aviation. Process for the preparation of 2-vinyl norbornane includes the hydrogenation of 2-vinyl-5-norbornene with hydrazine hydrate in an alcohol solution in the presence of an oxidizer and a copper sulfate or zero-valent copper catalyst in an amount of 2–5 wt. % to hydrazine hydrate. As oxidizing agents, aerial oxygen or pure oxygen is used at a temperature of 20–25 °C. Methanol or ethanol is used as the alcohol. Process is preferably carried out under heterophase conditions in methanol at a molar ratio of 2-vinyl-5-norbornene : hydrazine hydrate : methanol = 1:2:1.5.
EFFECT: increase in the selectivity of formation to 95 % with 100 % conversion of 2-vinyl-5-norbornene with the elimination of the use of expensive compounds of the platinum group and the possibility of preparing 2-vinyl-norbornane at atmospheric pressure and temperatures of 20–25 °C.
