FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, in particular to ships of tunnel-skeg type, which destroys the ice cover by a resonant method. Method of the destruction of ice cover 1 by ship 2 of tunnel-skeg type comprises exciting resonant flexural-gravity waves in ice cover 1 when ship 2 moves across ice at a resonant speed, creating an additional increase in the force of static pressure and damping of the disturbing effect of side rotor-screw propellers 5, excited by vibration and installed in the plane of the structural waterline. Mounted onboard rotor-screw propellers 5 have a stationary shell covering the upper part of propeller 5, and a shell movable around the axis of propeller 5 when ship 2 moves in cruising speed mode. Ship 2 are repeatedly passed along the field of ice 1 to be destroyed. Number of passes is limited by a number, exceeding of which is associated with the onboard rotor-screw propellers 5 from high-pressure air pump 4. Repeated passes are carried out at a critical speed.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of ice destruction is achieved.
