METHOD OF BREAKING ICE COVER BY COMPRESSED AIRFLOW VESSEL Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC B63B35/08 B60V3/06 E02B15/02

Abstract RU 2817430 C2

FIELD: shipbuilding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, particularly, to surface vessels running on compressed air flow and breaking ice cover by resonance method when moving on ice cover. For destruction of ice cover by vessel on compressed pneumatic flow excitation of flexural-gravity waves in ice is used when vessel moves above ice with resonance speed. During vessel movement snow cover and boundary layer of ice are additionally created in lower part of vessel under bottom of hull between side skegs by means of coaxial impeller located inside hull in niche of vessel fore part with nozzle. Static pressure force is additionally increased from the stern to the ice by gravity of two small cylindrical hulls engaged in horizontal plane and made up of two shafts made up of top and bottom shafts secured on lateral struts of the vertical frame. Outer surface of the rotating shafts additionally comprises, along the width, longitudinal projections with sharp edges, which engage with each other relative to the longitudinal axis of rotation of each of the shafts, combined along the pitch angle and the height of the protrusions with a sharp engagement edge with limited minimum lead-in cuts - recesses relative to the housing. To the axis of the lower shaft from the end the rotation control lever of this shaft is rigidly fixed, to the shafts axes rigidly fixed U-shaped shields are installed, their side walls are bent inwards with the possibility of opening or folding between themselves from the stern side, by means of which pressure on ice is carried out periodically with frequency equal to frequency of resonance flexural-gravity waves during time equal to half the period of these waves of maximum height during vessel movement.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of ice breaking.
