SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electron source and an X-ray source in which said electron source is used. Electron source contains at least two electron emission regions, in each of which a plurality of electron-emission microblocks are provided; each of the electron-emission microblocks comprising: a base layer; Isolation layer located on the base layer; grid layer located on the insulating layer; hole in the grid layer; emitter of electrons, which is fixed on the base layer and whose position coincides with the position of the hole. Electron-emission microblocks within one region of electron emission are electrically connected to each other and can simultaneously emit or not emit electrons, and different areas of electron emission are galvanically separated from each other.
EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of creating an electron source characterized by a low control voltage and a high-power emission current, and an X-ray source in which an electron source is used; as well as imaging systems, X-ray detection system, radiotherapy equipment under visual control in real time and other systems using an X-ray source.
