FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biochemistry, in particular to a genetically modified rodent animal expressing the humanized April protein, as well as to a method for its production. Genome of the above genetically modified rodent animal comprises replacing the genomic fragment of the endogenous gene of the proliferation-inducing ligand (April) of the rodent with a human genomic fragment containing the exons of the 2-6 human APRIL gene. Embryonic stem cell as well as the embryo of the above rodent are also disclosed. Invention also relates to a method for transplanting human cells to the aforementioned rodent.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to efficiently obtain a rodent expressing the humanized protein April.
