FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biochemistry, in particular to a rodent for the expression of a humanized IL-4 protein, where the rodent genome contains the replacement of the genomic DNA of the rodent IL-4 gene in the endogenous IL-4 locus of the rodent with the nucleic acid sequence of the human IL-4 gene to form a humanized IL-4 gene, to an embryonic stem cell and an embryo of the above rodent, as well as to a method for obtaining it. Also disclosed is a targeting vector for humanizing the endogenous IL-4 gene in a rodent.
EFFECT: invention enables effective screening for an antagonist specific for human IL-4.
