FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composite materials with a matrix of aluminum alloy. Composite material based on aluminum alloy contains a matrix of aluminum alloy containing, wt. %: Si 0.50–1.30, Fe 0.2–0.60, Cu 0.15 maximum, Mn 0.5–0.90, Mg 0.6–1.0, Cr 0.20 maximum, the rest is aluminum and inevitable impurities, and particles of filler material dispersed in the matrix, and the filler material contains a ceramic material. In this case, the alloy has an excess of magnesium in relation to the amount that enters the discharge of the Mg-Si phase. Method of obtaining a composite material includes obtaining a melt of the above-mentioned aluminum alloy, adding particles of an additive material to the molten aluminum alloy to form a molten mixture and casting the molten mixture to obtain a composite material containing aluminum alloy as a matrix material and an additive material dispersed in the matrix.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at obtaining a composite material with high mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.
