SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of machining a part on a metal-cutting machine with numerical programmed control by means of a tool, a metal-cutting machine and a computer-readable data medium. Relative movement of the tool relative to the machined part is controlled to perform machining of the part; ultrasonic vibration of the tool is created by means of an ultrasonic generator; at least one sensor signal is generated by the ultrasonic generator and a change in the material of the processed part is identified. At the same time, relative movement of the tool relative to the workpiece is controlled based on at least one sensor signal output by the ultrasonic generator.
EFFECT: object of the present invention is to provide a method for processing a workpiece on a numerically controlled machine tool.
