FIELD: means of communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to Listening Before Transmission (LBT) procedures suitable for Access with Rendered Licensed Spectrum Assistance (LAA) to an unlicensed frequency spectrum or Long Term Evolution standard for Unlicensed Spectrum (LTE-U). Method of functioning of a cellular network node includes performing a Listening Before Transmission LBT procedures for the observed channel in the unlicensed frequency spectrum. Through the LBT procedure, at least one Channel Availability Assessment (CCA) is deferred the way the LBT procedure ends at or near the desired starting point for the transfer. Said at least one CCA slot contains at least one of the slot of the first CCA LBT procedure, one or more intermediate CCA LBT slots and a final CCA LBT slot. Method comprises performing transmission in the observed channel after completion of the LBT procedure.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to reduce the overhead associated with signaling the reservation of a channel prior to data transmission.
