FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coating material containing Cr-containing particles, as well as to a method of producing a coating and to a coating obtained using said method. Material for applying a chromium-containing coating contains chromium-containing particles with chromium content of > 95 wt. %, wherein said material contains at least part of Cr-containing particles in the form of aggregates or agglomerates, and Cr-containing particles have an average surface area, measured by the BET method, of > 0.05 m2/g. Chromium-containing coating contains Cr > 50 wt. % and has an average thickness of > 20 mcm and a microstructure that comprises at least partially deformed Cr-containing grains.
EFFECT: provided is Cr-containing coating material, through which Cr-containing coatings can be reliably obtained, having high chromium content in the coating, with good adhesion and high density, without cracks perpendicular to the surface of the coating.
