SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for supplying oil to an internal combustion engine. Disclosed are methods and a system for supplying oil to an internal combustion engine. In one method, the oil is pumped through a low pressure oil pump to piston cooling nozzles and at the same time the oil is separately pumped through a high pressure oil pump to the cylinder head, bearings, turbocharger, or a variable valve control system. In addition, each of the pumps – low-pressure pump and high-pressure pump – pumps out the oil from the common oil sump and returns the oil to said common oil sump.
EFFECT: invention reduces loss of hydraulic energy.
