FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: in response to a decrease in the engine torque demand, the fuel supply to the engine is stopped and the engine that is not supplied with fuel is rotated by an electric motor until the required EGR flow is reached (LP-EGR). In the alternative, the engine is maintained with POr(EGR) turned off until the required EGR-LP flow rate is reached (LP-EGR), and the excess torque generated is stored in the system battery.
EFFECT: methods and systems are provided to accelerate exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) acceleration in a hybrid vehicle in transients, for example, when the gas is discharged to lower load conditions.
