Therapeutic effective dose of genetic material consisting of a gene for vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF, a gene for glial neurotrophic factor GDNF and a gene for neuronal adhesion molecule NCAM, is directly administered by intrathecal injection within 4 hours after the onset of ischemic cerebral stroke.
