CONTACT LENS WITH IMPROVED VISUAL CHARACTERISTICS AND MINIMUM HALO WHEN USING PUPIL APODIZATION Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2676945 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: soft contact lens with improved visual characteristics contains the optical zone and the peripheral zone surrounding the optical zone. Optical zone is configured to provide smooth function of apodization of the pupil for modulation of soft contact lens transfer profile amplitude. Filter of neutral density applied to a soft contact lens to ensure a smooth function of apodization of the pupil, which is determined by the mathematical expression A(r) = exp (-α * (r2 / r02)) where: r0 – the radius of the optical zone for a given configuration, r is the radial distance at any given location within the optical zone, is determined by the expression r = √(x2 + y2), α – constant, having any value from 0.1 to 10 for a given configuration.

EFFECT: technical result – providing optimal visual correction with reduced wavefront aberration at the edge of the pupil, reduced halo and light scattering.
