FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of imaging a sample and can be applied in the field of digital pathology. Method for simultaneously capturing image data at multiple sample depths uses an imaging device that comprises an image sensor that is configured to display an oblique section of the sample to form different optical path lengths from sample to sensor and to obtain image data at multiple sample depths, and has first and second pixel lines, which have a different optical path length to the sample along the optical axis of the device and separated from each other by a lumen along the scanning direction. Method comprises steps of scanning a sample along scanning direction (X′), which is substantially perpendicular to the optical axis and perpendicular to the main direction (Y) of the length of first and second pixel lines (S1), capturing a first image of the sample from first pixel line (S2), simultaneously capturing a second image of the sample from the first pixel line and capturing a third image of the sample from second pixel line (S3), continuing to capture images of the sample from second pixel line (S4), stopping the capturing of images of the sample from first pixel line (S5).
EFFECT: method allows to obtain a seamless two-dimensional or three-dimensional image and to change the depth of data recording from the sample in real time.
