SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of transport machine engineering. Automotive component for connecting body elements, forming an out-of-plane opening comprises an aluminium alloy structural component. Structural component has a side including a main portion defining recessed portion that is encircled by the main portion and has a thickness equal to the thickness of the main portion. Recessed portion comprises a support sub-portion, which is parallel to the main portion, and a strain-hardened sub-portion, which joins the support sub-portion to the main portion. Support sub-portion is out of plane with the main portion and forms an opening. Support sub-portion has a size such that the width of the support sub-portion is 6 mm.
EFFECT: reduced weight and higher strength of the automotive component.
