FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to the underwater vessels, sailing in ice conditions and destroying the ice cover by the resonance method during their surfacing in solid ice. Disclosed is the ice cover breaking method by the underwater vessel, which consists in the flexural-gravity waves excitation during the ship movement under ice with the resonant speed. During the vessel movement on its upper surface in the aft tip and the flexural-gravity wave top formation most probable point periodically creating, and then eliminating the electromagnetic force directed opposite to the vessel movement, with the frequency equal to the resonant flexural-gravity waves frequency, for a time equal to half of their period.
EFFECT: enabling increase in the ice cover destruction efficiency.
