SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol generating systems operating by heating an aerosol-forming substrate. In the method, an electrically heated aerosol-generating system comprises an aerosol-generating device and a cartridge configured to be used with the device, wherein the device comprises a device housing defining a cavity for arranging the cartridge when the housing engages with the cartridge; an inductor coil positioned around or adjacent to the cavity; and a power supply connected to the inductor coil and configured to provide a high frequency oscillating current to the inductor coil; wherein the cartridge comprises a cartridge housing containing an aerosol-forming substrate and adapted to engage with the device housing, at the same time the body has an external surface surrounding the aerosol-forming substrate from all sides; moreover, the first part of the outer surface is a material impermeable to the fluid, and the second part of the outer surface is a sheet of the current-collecting element permeable for the fluid attached to the first part and passing through the hole in the first part.

EFFECT: creating a system that allows the use of replaceable elements to replenish the substrate that forms the aerosol, which has a lower manufacturing cost and is more reliable than the spray cartridges currently available, and at the same time being light and easy to use for consumers and eliminating the need for solder joints and providing an airtight device that is easy to clean.
