To implement the technical result, the invention provides an encoder, a decoder and a method for decoding the input bitstream into a decoded image, besides the method contains the steps where: receive from the original image input data located in the conversion unit, convert it, in accordance with the type of conversion, selected from a set of transform types, perform quantization of transform coefficients to generate quantized transform coefficients, generate index information adapted to identify the selected conversion type from the set of transformation types, determine the information to be hidden, besides the information to be hidden is at least a part of the index information, and hide the information that should to be hidden in the quantized transform coefficients.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to improve the quality of encoding and decoding of images, as well as improving the efficiency of using quantized transform coefficients in encoding and decoding.
