SUBSTANCE: invention discloses methods and systems for reducing cold start engine emissions during activation of a catalyst. According to one of the examples of the invention implementation, the method of exhaust gases emission reduction may include supply of ionized air into the exhaust system of the engine downstream of the spent gas catalyst for oxidation of spent gas emissions not treated with the catalyst.

EFFECT: this solution allows to reduce content of SP in exhaust gases, as well as in downstream filter of solid particles.
