FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and can be used in research institutions of medical profile and Rospotrebnadzor services. Invention consists in providing fast and reliable differentiation of the strains of the medieval biovar from the Y. pestis strains of other biovars and subspecies with the subsequent separation of the strains of the medieval biovar according to their phylogenetic affiliation. Technical result is achieved by the method of differentiation of the strains of the causative agent of the plague of the medieval biovar with the definition of their phylogenetic affiliation by the method of PCR with electrophoretic accounting of the results, using the corresponding primers SEQ ID NO: 1-4 on the target DNA "(-183) 2.med", "pCKF", "(-100) 2.med1" and "(-73) 2.med3", followed by differentiation according to the size of amplification in accordance with the table.
EFFECT: ensuring fast and reliable differentiation of strains of medieval biovar.
