FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport engineering, particularly, to pickup design. Pickup comprises left and right side members, body bottom (10) made from sheet metal, having a substantially flat area without holes, and transverse element (16), sharpened to left and right side members (18), having front flange welded to body bottom and rear flange welded to body bottom. One of the front flange and the rear flange limits the first hole adjacent to the flat bottom-free area of the body bottom. Pickup truck manufacturing method involves roller profiling of transverse element with front and rear flanges, one of which limits the hole, body bottom punching to form multiple projecting collars and without holes between the beads and to weld the transverse element to the bottom side of the body bottom with alignment of the hole with the hole-free area.
EFFECT: higher reliability.
