SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of transport machine engineering. Cargo bed assembly for a pickup truck includes an aluminium truck bed, an aluminium cross member and an aluminium reinforcing member. Aluminium cross member has a base and a pair of side walls extending from opposite sides of the base. Aluminium cross member is mounted on the bottom of the bed. Aluminium reinforcing member is in contact with the base and the side wall portion and is located between the aluminium cross member and the side member of the truck. Aluminium reinforcing member is made from extruded 6000-series aluminium.
EFFECT: reduction in the weight of the cargo bed.
