FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neurology, cardiology and therapy, and can be used for selection of patients with resistant hypertension with disturbed reserve of cerebral blood flow aged up to 60 years for renal denervation. That is ensured by determining the blood flow variation rate in the medial cerebral artery (MCA), for which before and during inhalation of 4 % of the mixture of carbon dioxide with air, a coefficient of change in blood flow velocity relative is determined (CCVrel), which is calculated using the original calculation formula. With simultaneous value of cerebral circulation velocity variation coefficient ≥70 % and test speed of cerebral blood flow change more than 28 cm/min, restoration of cerebral blood flow reserve is predicted and renal denervation is prescribed.

EFFECT: method enables adequate selection of patients in the given group for safe and effective treatment by renal denervation, which provides a significant reduction in the risk of complications in the postoperative period.
