FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Operation method of engine (10) consists in that air is fed from inlet manifold (44) through engine cylinders to connection point of outlet channel (74) and bypass channel (98) in response to certain state. Connection point is located in the direction of outlet channel (74) between the first and second emission reduction devices (70) and (72). Exhaust gases are directed to first device (70) for reduction of emission toxicity with simultaneous air directing to said connection point. Said state represents excess of flow rate to engine. Disclosed are engine operating method embodiments.
EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of high levels of hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in the outlet channel.
