FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device relates to the field of marine instrument making and is intended for use as a relative and absolute lag, as well as a current velocity meter. Laser ship speed meter comprises transmitting and receiving channels, computing device, reference photodetector, device for removal of optical energy of laser transmitter to reference receiver and control sensor of radiation direction. Transmitting and receiving channels are arranged in a sealed housing with a protective opening in the lower base. Transmitting channel includes: a semiconductor module with diffraction-optical division of a laser beam, a semiconductor module, a diffraction grating, a first lens, a spatial filter and a second lens. Receiving channel comprises a focusing lens and 5 sets of devices: a diaphragm, a photodiode, a preamplifier and a Doppler signal converter. Converters are connected to a computing device.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of measurements.
