FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Method for measuring intraocular pressure (IOP) is carried out using a measurement device IOP. Eye surface is exposed to static rod pressure, the magnitude of which is known to be less than IOP, followed by exposing the eye cornea to a plurality of dynamic rod ejection pulses in the eye direction. Pulses pressure value increases starting from the value of total static and dynamic rod pressure equal to the minimum possible value IOP. Meaning of true IOP is determined by the minimum value of the sum of static and dynamic pressure, under which the surface of the cornea begins to deform inside the eye. Measuring device IOP comprises a housing, an eyeball deformation element in form of a rod, a rod movement unit and a rod position sensor electrically connected to the control unit. Rod is connected to the body by two spring elements.
EFFECT: measurement IOP taking into account the rigidity of the eye cornea, allowing the patient to experience minimal unpleasant sensations during the procedure due to minimal static and short-term dynamic (pulse) pressure of the eye on the unprotected eye.
