FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopedic dentistry and beam diagnostics, and can be used for determination of upper jaw position. Computed tomography of brain and skull is performed to patient. Tomograms are processed in the Anatomage program to obtain 3D cephalograms. On 3D-cephalograms, the ANS point corresponding to the apex of the front nasal spine and the point Pt-M corresponding to the lower point of the wing of the super-maxillary fissure are marked. Point Pt-M is marked to the right and to the left. ANS-Pt-M plane corresponding to the true position of the upper jaw is constructed through the points ANS and Pt-M.

EFFECT: method enables personification of 3D images of skull of true size and true position of upper jaw when making prosthetic structures by dental technician, reduced risk of development of temporomandibular joint dysfunction in patients and allows eliminating repetition measures by constructing an ANS-Pt-M plane on 3D cephalogram.
