SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method of decoding a bit stream of video data comprises: determining use of internal prediction for a coding unit; decoding parts of first information from bit stream, wherein said parts of first information in bit stream are arithmetically coded, each of parts of first information indicates usage of specific internal prediction mode; decoding parts of the second information from the bit stream, wherein portions of the second information in the bit stream are encoded with bypass, each of the second information parts is intended to set internal prediction modes; determining internal prediction modes for prediction units in current coding unit in accordance with first information and second information; and decoding a plurality of prediction units using predetermined intra prediction modes.

EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of encoding/decoding bit stream of video data.
