FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices for neutron capturing therapy. for neutron capturing therapy comprises fibrous beam inlet, target, retarder abutting on said target, reflector around said retarder, thermal neutron absorber adjacent to said retarder, reactor biological protection array and fiber bundle outlet arranged in irradiator, target serves to work with proton beams output from fiber beam input with occurrence of atomic reaction to produce neutrons, neutrons form neutron beams, axis of neutron beams is directed to retarder, which slows neutrons separated from target directed to epithermal neutron active zone, between the retarder and the reflector there is an air or vacuum gap, with possibility of passage of a neutron beam along it for intensification of epithermal neutron beam, wherein target is separated from gap by retarder and gap is formed by reflector, retarder and absorber of thermal neutrons, deflected neutrons will be reflected back along axis to increase intensity of epithermal neutron beam, thermal neutron absorber absorbs thermal neutrons in order to avoid excessive surface doses in therapy directly under surface normal tissues, the reactor biological protection array is designed to protect neutrons and photons from leakage in order to reduce a dose for normal tissues in nonirradiated zones.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables reducing a dose for normal tissues in nonirradiated zones.
