FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. Method of making an optical probe for use in ophthalmic procedures, according to which a cannula is placed around a distal portion of the ring, wherein the optical fiber passes at least partially through the ring towards the optical element placed in the distal portion of the cannula; and connecting the cannula with the ring by applying laser energy to the cannula, creating deformation in the cannula and the ring. An ophthalmic surgical system comprises: a light source configured to generate light; and the optical probe in optical communication with the light source, wherein the optical probe comprises a ring; a cannula arranged around the distal portion of the ring, wherein the cannula and the ring are joined together by creating a deformation in the ring and the cannula; and an optical fiber placed at least partially into the optical probe, wherein the optical fiber is configured to receive light from the light source and direct light onto the optical element placed in the distal portion of the cannula.
EFFECT: using the given group of inventions enables reducing the probability of the cannula disconnection from the ring during a surgical operation.
