FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental toxicology and biotechnology and is intended for rapid assessment of cytotoxicity of gold nanoparticles. Method for assessing cytotoxicity of gold nanoparticles, comprising non-destructive photometric assessment of chlorophyll content in suspensions of microalgae cultures Dunaliella salina, includes cultivation of microalgae Dunaliella salina using Ben-Amotz nutrient medium, diluting gold nanoparticles with Ben-Amotz culture medium, preparation of samples by introduction of microalgae culture Dunaliella salina into diluted gold nanoparticles so that the sowing dose is 106 cells/ml, triplication of samples, incubation of samples for 48 hours, photometric measurement of suspensions of cultures Dunaliella salina in vivo by recording extinction at three wavelengths: 640, 680 and 740 nm, calculating chlorophyll absorption peak height, calculating toxic action efficiency by formula, calculating values of semi-efficient concentration of gold nanoparticles EC5048 by linear interpolation by formula.
EFFECT: method described above enables to evaluate effectively the toxic effect of gold nanoparticles.
