FIELD: nanotechnology; nanotoxicology; medicine.

SUBSTANCE: proposed is a method for estimating the degree of toxicity of micro- and nanoparticles by the morphological features thereof. According to the method, the particles are illuminated with a light or electron beam by means of a scanning electron microscope. The particle images are then recorded, the resulting particle image is transferred to the two-colour black and white image mode, and a particle projection image is obtained. The following morphological features of the particle are then determined using the particle projection: the sphericity coefficient, porosity, the particle surface structure, the internal configuration of the particle by determining the fullness or hollowness thereof, liquid or gas filling rate. The morphological features of the particle obtained during measurement are also scored.

EFFECT: ensured versatility and possibility of estimating the toxicity using a number of a complex of estimation indicators without involving biological objects.
