FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines with change of phases of cam distribution. Method for operation of engine with change of phases of cam distribution consists in change of phases of cam distribution of phase shifter (300) of phases of cam distribution by means of hydraulic pressure created by cam torque, separately from oil pressure in system created by engine, by means of slide valve (309). In response to the oil pressure drop in the system below the threshold value when the camshaft distribution phases change, the position of slide valve (309) is adjusted with the introduction of a slide valve in the retaining region for (309) reducing oil pressure in the system acting on the blocking circuit of phase shifter (300). Versions of the method of engine operation with change of cam distribution phases are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of inaccuracies arising from undesired movements of slide valve and/or phase shifter.
