FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed invention discloses an ultrasonic flow meter (10) for determining flow rate of a fluid medium flowing in pipeline (12), having at least one measuring circuit (18), in which are located opposite each other first ultrasonic transducer (16a) and second ultrasonic transducer (16b) with flowing fluid medium between said transducers, and having an evaluation unit configured to calculate the flow rate from the difference in the passage time of the ultrasonic pulses along measuring circuit (18) in the direction of flow (14) and against flow (14). At that, ultrasonic transducers (16a, b) are positioned so that in the receiving signal of the receiving ultrasonic transducer (16a, b) a certain subpulse is isolated in time, wherein said sub-pulse corresponds to direct sound reflected by sound, axially refracted sound in fluid medium or azimuthally refracted sound in fluid medium. According to the invention, the effect of superposition, particularly indirect sound in a fluid medium on a certain subpulse, can be neglected.
EFFECT: improved measurement results.
