FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel control systems for internal combustion engines (ICE). Disclosed are methods and systems for assessing the presence of changes in the fuel component of the air-fuel ratio in the engine. In one example, the method includes an indication of the change in the fuel component of the air-fuel ratio based on the delay of the exhaust gas sensor when entering deceleration mode with fuel cutoff and exit therefrom.
EFFECT: invention allows improving engine operation control, improving fuel efficiency and reducing engine toxicity.
