FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of evaluation of efficiency of armour-piercing ammunition and armour at their collision. Method of determination of depth of target penetration by armour-piercing projectiles consists in determining length of shell l and density of its material kc. Density of target material km is determined. Shell velocity is determined at collision moment ui. Sublimation heat of one mole of material of projectile material Ec is determined. Weight of one mole of material of projectile material Pc is determined. Determining the sublimation heat of one mole of the target material of the target material Em. Determining the weight of one mole of the target material substance Pm. Penetration depth of the target h is calculated using a ratio. Analysis of collision of kinetic projectiles with targets makes it possible, at the stage of designing projectiles and armour, to determine target armour penetration parameters.
EFFECT: invention can be used in creation of new ammunition and new armour for protection of objects.
