FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to experimental pharmacology and neurology, and can be used for prevention of cerebral ischemia. A four-vessel model of the pathology is reproduced, and Wistar 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazolium glycylglycine is injected into male rats at dose of 50 mg/kg once 60 minutes before the experiment by the intragastric probe as a preconditioning agent. After 60 minutes, cerebral ischemia is simulated by coagulation of two vertebral arteries and temporary occlusion of two common carotid arteries.
EFFECT: method provides pronounced cerebral ischemia correction by using 2-amino-5-ethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazolium glycylglycine, having antioxidant and antihypoxic activity and blocking activation of free radical processes, as well as peroxide oxidation of lipids of cell membranes, occurring in developing acute myocardial infarction, ischemic and haemorrhagic strokes, acute disorders of regional and general blood circulation.
