FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, in particular to measurements and classification of thermal fields of objects using infrared measurement devices, and is intended for use in testing infrared visibility of man-made and biological objects. Method involves thermal imaging of the thermal signature of the analyzed object on an ambient background, replacement of the initial thermal signature of the object with an equivalent heat-geometric model and processing of the model parameters according to specially derived relationships. Infrared visibility range of the object is measured taking into account the values of the infrared visibility of the object and the background, as well as the range of optical visibility of the object.
EFFECT: technical result is high accuracy of measuring infrared range of visibility, achieving uniform measurement of infrared visibility for all types of technogenic and biological objects with simultaneous possibility of comparing objects by their thermal protection, high efficiency of thermal search for objects.
