SUBSTANCE: method of decoding video data from a bit stream, in which encoding data of residual coefficients for a conversion unit, which is presented as a square block of a predetermined size, is received from the bit stream, and encoded data of at least one flag of a group of significant coefficients for indicating whether at least one of the residual coefficients in the corresponding subblock of the square block is significant; determining the order of scanning a flag of a group of significant coefficients and the scanning order of residual coefficients for the transformation unit according to the internal prediction mode; determining at least one flag of a group of significant coefficients corresponding to subblocks of the square block according to a determined scanning order of at least one flag of the group of significant coefficients; and determining residual conversion unit coefficients according to determined at least one flag of a group of significant coefficients and a certain scanning order of residual coefficients for generating said video data.

EFFECT: technical result is to reduce unwanted memory usage.
