FIELD: internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to means of controlling an internal combustion engine. For this purpose, proposed is a control device, which controls control parameter based on values of operating parameters. Control device is configured to: obtaining current operating parameter values; calculating, using the model, the probabilistic distribution of the output parameter with respect to the value of the control parameter; and setting the target value of the control parameter based on the calculated probabilistic distribution of the output parameter such that the probability of the value of the output parameter, becoming equal to or greater than target value, is most approximated to target probability. Control parameter, operating parameters and output parameter are parameters different from each other. Model is a model with a Gaussian process which outputs a probabilistic distribution of the output parameter if the values of the operating parameters and the control parameters are input.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of internal combustion engine control.
